London 2012, has to be one of the most inspirational events that i have ever witnessed. To live in such close proximity to London has made me realise how lucky i am to be able to be one of the millions of people that have experienced the Olympics and Paralympics this year.
I got the opportunity to experience both the Olympics and Paralympics.
Swim, Bike, Run.
All Dad's are crazy and so mine happened to drag us all out of bed at a ridiculous unearthly hour to the other teenagers out there (5am) in order to trek to Hyde Park so we could watch the ladies Olympic triathlon. The early hour paid off when we arrived as we got a spot right at the front and on a corner where we could see mostly everything. This was such a fantastic day out as the atmosphere was buzzing.
Paralympics.
On September 5th Queens School went on a trip to see the Paralympics. As i am a new student at the school, initially i felt a bit intimidated and scared which is naturally how you would feel around people that you do not know. However the people i met that day i got on with exceptionally well and really made the day turn out so amazing and so much better than expected! It took my worries away also for having to start school next week. Seeing the Paraympians yesterday made me feel so inspired about how they have gone through the turmoil of everything and come out the other side. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel.
